Ron Burgundy//RUN DMC

Coffee and Cigarettes

I don't know how I feel about this one. I rushed the idea, should have sat on the overall joke for a bit. It's not very clear that the cigarettes had the sudden urge to poop, like one does when he or she or it combines the two.

Marc Maron as Sylvester the Cat

I think I've mentioned Marc Maron in my blog posts before, he is the comedian / podcaster that I listen to for hours on end sometimes. If you are a fan of stand up comedy or funny interesting people in general check out his podcast, WTF. It stands for "Where's The Fudge"?? No, it doesn't. Marc calls his garage the "cat ranch" since he takes care of a bunch of cats that were strays. I decided Sylvester the Cat is a good choice of someone to fuse him with. Sylvester also has relationship issues just like Marc! This one turned out OK, I will definitely do a better Marc Maron cartoon in the future.

Johnny Appleseed, the original hipster

Johnny Appleseed was the original hipster. He liked apples before they were popular or "cool", he wore suspenders and ironic hats, and he preferred the old way of farming (aimlessly scattering seeds) to any more modern way. I added a few more things, but you get the point. I don't know why I didn't really put too much into this one, felt like I was just doing it to do it eventually, but here it is.

Farley Bear

So this comic/illustration is my first of the mashups that was done for a client. My friend is starting an online magazine, and wants it to have a classic print magazine feel. He asked me to be the cartoonist and gave me all the creative liberty I want. The idea is that he has "mock interviews" with celebrities and then I take a line or an image from the interview and illustrate it to capture the interview. The first one he sent me was Chris Farley getting interviewed on the set of "Almost Heroes". Farley in the interview said he "felt like a puppet". So, naturally, with my Muppet/Celebrity mashups I decided to make Farley into Fozzie Bear. Here it is!
